Young People

This section of the website has been designed for young people, however it contains useful, and information for those caring or working with young people. Other sections of the website might also be interesting for young people; so go on have a look.

Growing up can be really difficult but exciting too. There are lots of changes happening, our bodies grow and change and we begin to experience lots of different emotions. Usually there is a lot of stress at school with exams and homework and it can be a confusing time. It is important to remember that everyone is different, people experience these changes in different ways and at different times. However, there are lots of people you can talk to about how you feel. Parents and carers are really helpful to talk to as they have gone through the same changes. If you find it difficult talking to parents or carers, you might find it easier to talk to a teacher, youth worker or older sibling who can all be good sources of information. It's important you chose someone you can trust.

At different times of our lives we might feel attracted towards people of the same sex and feel unsure as to what this means and what to do. There is help and advice to help you work through your thoughts and some links in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender section.
